File this under "Scribblenauts seriously appeals to everyone", I guess.
Ever hear of parenthood.com? Well, you have heard of it now, and there aren't any surprises to that site...they literally have resources for people with kids. That's about it. So how they managed to offer a contest like this one is beyond me. I imagine that parents would be busy citing videogames as the reason for obesity or war or perhaps genocide.
Anyways, there doesn't seem like there's much to it. Enter a name and email and you're in the drawing. Three winners will be announced. As long as this copy doesn't like...accidentally get you pregnant or something, there doesn't seem to be any catch.

Live in Australia/New Zealand? Have a good imagination? Want to win Scribblenauts and rooster hats?
If the answer to all of those (complicated) questions is a resounding "YES!", then Vooks has the contest for you.
Vooks.net, an Australian-based video game website, has revealed one of the cooler contests we've seen. They've outlined a scenario - which I will quote below - and have asked their readers to solve it as creatively as they can. Two winners will receive a copy of the game and a rooster helmet. Two runner ups will receive just the rooster helmet.
You can read more about the contest right here, and the scenario of the game below...

You wake up to realize there’s a T-rex in your front yard! Summoning three different items, how will you get past the terrifying dinosaur so you can get to school or work?
But wait there’s more!
Whilst open-ended, your items must follow these rules (the same rules of the game)
1) Must be a noun
2) No naughty stuff, adults-only stuff or swear words
3) No trademarks or characters (so ’car’ is fine, but Ford Falcon is not; favourites such as Mario, Link and Samus are unfortunately not allowed).
Simply jot down (in fewer than 200 words), act out or draw, how you’ll do the above impossible feat. Remember contestants, we’re looking for creative solutions here, not just the most powerful items. We will be particularly interested in seeing ideas that implement the items three TOGETHER in a uniquely innovative way!

Wanna win a Scribblenauts notebook?

Only Scribblenauts can get away with this sort of swag. It seems they were giving out Scribblenauts notebooks at GamesCom, and at least one website wants you to win it. If you ARE interesting in winning it, it seems all you have to do is listen to Gamespot's UK podcast. I have no idea what else you have to do, but I guess listening to it first is a good place to start.

Want to win a "real life" Post 217 poster?

Of course you do, how is that even a question?
So clearly everyone should head on over to this site and enter their contest. It seems simple enough: rate their podcast over at iTunes, and that's it! You're entered. Of course it probably makes sense for you to listen to said podcast first.

Joystiq offers a Scribblenauts challenge

If you were with us for the EDGE contest awhile back then this should come as no shock to you, but that doesn't make it any less cool.
Joystiq has issued a challenge for their readers to solve a level in Scribblenauts. There's no prizes this time around (except for the accomplishment of a job well done!) nor is the level particularly difficult. You can see the level and what it entails at the top of this post.
However, despite not being very hard, this sure sounds like it could be a ton of fun and allow for creative (and entirely insane) ideas. The lack of a challenge will enable some really awesome and free form solutions...at least I hope. We're not sure what "cheating" means, but I assume you can't just walk over to it and knock it down. Still, it just said no guns. Explosives? Nukes? A black hole? Those are entirely different stories.
So head over to Joystiq and drop them a comment. They'll have the results on Monday.

UK gets release date, Edge announces contest winners
Got a couple of news pieces coming out of our tea drinking neighbors.
First, Eurogamer has revealed the release date for the UK copy: September 25th, 10 days after the North American release. You can check out the news right here.
In other news, Edge has announced the winners for their contest and promise videos - at least sometime in the near future. Here are the following winners and their solutions:
1st place
@shinibi - steel above starite via "grappling hook", "fire" to burn Maxwell's rope, and "termites" to eat the cage. Starite get?
2nd place
@Elecveg - Grappling Hook to Maxwell, shoot at right metal block. Pull up. Remove hat when over cage, release hook, use Drill to get in.
3rd place
@Synthic - 1) Summon a pterodactyl, glue a plank horizontally to its head, position it so plank is under the cage. 2) Give yourself wings, take off top hat, land on the plank next to cage. Get axe, destroy cage, get Starite that's on the plank
So congratulations to the above winners! You guys definitely earned it. Hopefully we'll see some new videos or screenshots up showing just how awesome (or not!) these solutions worked out!

The "cans" and "cannots" of 10-6
Edge continues to update and answer questions about people trying to solve 10-6. They've clarified some things for people, so make sure you're taking them into account. You can track their impromptu Q&A session at their twitter page, but I'll also be updating this post throughout with any new clarification.
Hmm, so you CAN remove the hat, and now it seems the rope holding you up isn't imprisoning you, but rather, it's saving you from death. So this basically means your goal is to cut one rope, not two. Quite the plot twist! And you can attach things to the cage, ala grappling hook, and though we probably knew that it's good to get the confirmation.
This is a bit disappointing as I hoping some of the suggestions (namely, liquid nitrogen or tsumani) would be enough to cool the lava. Seems like it's a static obstacle after all, at least for now. It also makes sense that vehicles without a driver will plop to the ground. I wonder if you have enough time to spawn a heli and toss a pilot into it.
The hovercraft comment is expanded a bit below...
Cupid isn't smart enough to know how to solve the level for you...that's obvious to me at least. Though I wonder if they mean they're trying to tell him to fire but he won't. The hovercrafts apparently need ground to hover off of, which I guess makes sense by most typical definitions of a hovercraft. And floating platforms don't exist and would be too cheesy. Edge agrees!
There seems like a rather obvious solution to this problem, at least to me. If the ropes or chains don't extend beyond Maxwell and the cage then you could simply make more chains to attach to the end of those. And if THAT is not possible, then simply attach some intermediate object (such as another steel block) inbetween.
Alright, you heard them! No more questions. You have a lot to go off now, so set forth and solve! Win some Scribblenauts!
Scribblenauts: the most frequent questions and errors! You CAN have wings, steel boxes, attach things to the cage, and remove the hat.

You CANNOT cool the lava in any way suggested thus far, use vehicles without drivers, use a hovercraft, or put things inside the cage

More S/nauts: Cupid's not listening to instructions. He just floats. Hover things aren’t floating on lava. 'Floating platforms'? Come on.

Finally, chains or ropes fixed to the steel blocks do not extend below Maxwell or the cage. No more Qs, there's plenty for you to go on now
